Police in Victoria are looking for any witnesses after a 19-month-old toddler was found dead inside a hotel early Saturday morning.

Police say they are looking for witnesses to something that occurred on Friday, July 17.

Officers responded to a call at Clover Point, near Dallas Road, on Friday afternoon, from someone who was concerned about the loud praying and actions from a woman who had a three-year-old girl and the 19-month-old toddler with her.

Officers talked to the woman, the children, and the caller.

The next morning, the toddler was found dead at Hotel Zed on Douglas Street.

Police received reports that a woman was screaming inside one of the hotel rooms. When they arrived, officers had to force entry into the room.

The toddler had no vital signs, and despite attempts by police and other emergency crews to revive him, was pronounced dead at the scene.
