MIDDLE RIVER, N.S. — One man has died and another has been injured following a plane crash in Middle River, N.S.
Victoria Country RCMP, EHS and the Middle River Fire Department received a call shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday that an ultra-light plane had crashed near West Side Middle River Road.
It’s believed the plane, which had two occupants, crashed into a barn shortly after take-off. A 54-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 26-year-old man was airlifted to hospital in Halifax, where he remains. It’s unclear at this point what injuries he sustained.
RCMP Cpl. Angela Corscadden says the investigation into the plane crash is in its early stages, and few details are known at this time. Investigators are working to piece together the circumstances that led to the crash.
The RCMP say they are leading the investigation. The Transportation Safety Board has also been notified about the incident.
