Lasalle – A vigil was held Friday night for Samantha Higgins.
The young mother disappeared in the early morning hours of Tuesday, after spending the evening at a friend’s house.
While walking home she just vanished.
Early Friday afternoon, Global News spoke to those close to Samantha Higgins and they were still holding out hope that she would be found.
But then the news came, that nobody wanted to hear.
A dismembered body found in the small town of Hinchinbrooke on Thursday, floating in a bag on the river, was positively identified as Samantha Higgins.
Police have no leads or suspects regarding the disappearance and murder of the 22-year-old Higgins.
Late last night Samantha’s friends and family came out to grieve.
They gathered at the last place Samantha was seen; the McDonald’s restaurant on Newman Boulevard in Lasalle.
That’s where they gathered to say goodbye and remember the young mother.
