Abbotsford Police are issuing another warning about Fentanyl following a woman’s death on June 30.
Police were called at 2:30 a.m. to a central Abbotsford home after a woman’s family member had found her unresponsive on the floor. The woman in her mid-20s was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators learned the woman occasionally used both street and prescription drugs. Preliminary tests have indicated that Methylfentanyl was found in her system and is a likely contributing factor in her death. Police say the victim may have used Methylfentanyl believing it to be heroin.
Methylfentanyl is an analog of Fentanyl but is many times more potent and dangerous.
This is the second warning about Fentanyl issued by the Abbotsford Police this year. The previous warning was on May 20.
