Richmond Hill man arrested for luring underage girls on social media

TORONTO – A Richmond Hill man has been arrested for allegedly luring underage girls through social media to obtain naked photographs.

Police say Brandon Walker, 24, has been in contact with his victims during the past year and turned himself in on July 7.

It is alleged the accused befriended a 13-year-old and 14-year-old on Facebook using the name Brandon G. Davidson and offered money to them in exchange for naked photographs.

Police say Walker threatened to expose his victims if they did not send naked pictures or video of themselves to him.

The accused has since been charged with two counts of luring a child under the age of 16 years, three counts of counsel to commit the offence of make child pornography, two counts of make child pornography, two counts of possession of child pornography, and two counts of extortion.

“With online predators, they find a way to find common interests, common likes and they develop that trust of that individual,” said Sex Crimes Det. Cst. Michele Bond during a press conference Monday.

“As we know with young persons, it’s so easy to gain that trust.”

Police believe there may be more victims and are asking anyone who has been in contact with the accused to come forward.
