PEGGY’S COVE, NS – A 26-year-old Ontario man is lucky to be alive after he fell into the water at Peggy’s Cove earlier today.

Halifax RCMP responded to a 911 call that a man had slipped and fallen into the water at about 4:30 Thursday afternoon.

Preliminary investigation determined that the captain of the tour boat “The Sea Dog IV” was alerted and immediately launched his boat.

About 10 minutes later, the captain located the man floating on his back about 30-40 feet from the rocks.

The man was extremely cold when he was pulled from the water onto the tour boat. He was then transported to hospital with undetermined injuries.

RCMP want to remind the public to be cautious while walking along the Halifax shorelines, especially Peggy’s Cove, as the black rocks can get very slippery.
