Kalamalka Lake death not suspicious but friend is missing

VERNON – The death of a man found in Kalamalka Lake is not foul play but now police are searching for his missing friend.

The body of 32-year-old Shane Letkeman of Lethbridge, Alberta was recovered from the lake Sunday afternoon near Cosens Bay.

Vernon RCMP spokesperson Cst. Jocelyn Noseworthy says autopsy results have determined Letkeman’s death is not suspicious.

Noseworthy says Letkeman was last known to be with Curtis Wilson, also from Lethbridge, who has been reported missing by his family.

“A black, Chrysler 200 car with Alberta licence plate associated to Wilson was located in the area that the body was found. That vehicle was seized as part of the investigation. RCMP are searching the Kalamalka Lake area for Wilson using ground, water and air resources,” says Noseworthy.
