RED HEAD, N.B. – Two are dead following a shooting incident in Red Head, near Saint John.
Saint John Police responded to a call in Red Head shortly after 4 p.m. Monday where they confirmed a man and woman were killed at a residence along Red Head Road.
Police have released very few details but did say a gunshot was heard when they arrived.
“Upon entering the building we heard what we thought was a shot,” said Insp. David Parks. “We contained the scene until the emergency tactical services team arrived. They entered the building and we have two dead now.”
As many as eight police vehicles blocked the road for more than two hours.
Neighbour Phillip Doiron described the neighbourhood to reporters as quiet and friendly.
“Really, you don’t hear, you know, for something to happen out here. Everybody, everybody usually knows everybody out here. It’s a friendly community,” he said.
