Premier Greg Selinger’s approval rating stays in basement: Angus Reid

WINNIPEG – Greg Selinger remains the least popular premier in Canada, according to results of the Angus Reid Institute’s quarterly online survey.

Selinger’s approval rating ticked up one percentage point to 23 per cent in June, from 22 per cent in March. His rating bottomed out in December at 17 per cent after being 30 per cent last September – worst in Canada throughout the period.

Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall continued to hold top spot in the poll with a 61 per cent approval rating, down slightly from 64 per cent in March.

The next Manitoba election will be held April 19, 2016.

Angus Reid analyzed the results of an online survey of 6,291 Canadian adults between May 26 and June 7. Those surveyed are a randomized and representative sample of Angus Reid Forum panelists, the research firm said. Angus Reid institute is a not-for-profit public opinion research organization based in Vancouver.
