North Vancouver fire crews rescue injured teen in Lynn Canyon Park

Officials on the North Shore are issuing a warning the public after a teenager was badly hurt when she jumped into Lynn Creek Monday afternoon.

North Vancouver District deputy fire chief Mike Cairns says the girl jumped off a ledge at Twin Falls, which is roughly 500 metres south of the Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge, and injured her back. The teen was treated for hypothermia and a possible neck injury.

The area where she was swimming is popular with people looking to cool down in warm temperatures, but North Vancouver District Fire Services is worried more people could be injured because the water is much more shallow this year.
