SASKATOON – A man has been found guilty of harassing a Saskatoon judge. The verdict was handed down Friday night by a jury against Christopher Hahn.

The jury briefly returned to the courtroom without a decision and the judge sent them back to try again. After more than 10 hours of deliberations, the jury came back with a guilty verdict.

Hahn has now been convicted of harassing Shawn Smith over a span of three years after the judge made a ruling in family court in 2009 that wasn’t in Hahn’s favour.

Over the course of the trial, the jurors heard from several Crown witnesses including Smith, who testified to reporting Hahn to police after Hahn launched a poster campaign against him for the third time.

He argued the posters he distributed during that time slamming the judge were freedom of speech and that he has no history of violence.
