GUELPH, Ont. – If you live in Guelph, Ont., and are missing your garden gnomes, you may want to contact police.
Police say they received a call about a man allegedly stealing garden solar lights early Monday morning.
Soon after, police say they stopped a man who had several solar lights and garden gnomes on him.
Guelph police spokesman Const. Mike Gatto says some of the items have been returned, but they are looking to reunite a few gnomes with their owners.
He says the owners might not know they are missing their gnomes.
Mark Leitch, 42, of Guelph, has been charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property under $5,000.
He is set to appear in court on July 7.
