Every happy marriage has its hiccups.
Unfortunately for Chris Bouyea, he triggered one this Mother’s Day.
“He didn’t say ‘Happy Mother’s Day.’ He didn’t say ‘Thank You,’ or even have the kids make me a homemade card like he might normally do, so I was a little frustrated,” wife Katie told NBC affiliate WPTV.
That led Katie to turn to Facebook where she jokingly listed her husband for sale.
“For sale, best offer. Hubby who couldn’t be bothered to wish me Happy Mother’s Day or do anything special for me yesterday. One (wo)man’s trash is another (wo)man’s treasure. Has 8 years of marriage mileage so somewhat broken in.”
While at first glance the move seems a bit cruel, Katie says it was for a good cause.
Katie often sells items online to help a family friend pay for their son’s medical bills. The boy has spinal muscular atrophy which confines him to a wheelchair.
So far, the highest bid the Bouyeas have received for Chris is a measly $20 – probably a bit too low for Katie to give up her husband for all the great qualities she says he has.
“He is very wonderful! He’s very handsome and he’s very handy.”
