UPDATE – May 14: Richard Thomas Galt has been arrested in Abbotsford. He is back in custody.
VANCOUVER – Three men, considered to be high-risk sex offenders, have failed to return to their halfway houses in Vancouver in the past week.
Canada-wide warrants have been issued for their arrests.
On May 7, Gerald Richard McLean, 46, failed to return to his halfway house.
He was convicted of sexually assaulting a child in 2000 and a teenager in 1995. He is a two-time federal offender, who is serving a long-term supervision order after completing a two-year sentence for sexual assault.
McLean is Caucasian, 5’7″ tall, 175 pounds., with green eyes, a goatee, and long blonde hair, possibly worn in a ponytail. He has a tattoo of an eagle on his left upper arm, a skull on his shoulder, a tribal band on his right upper arm and the word “prospector” on his back. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, black hoodie with an emblem on the back, brown pants, and black boots.
On May 11, Richard Thomas Galt, 46, failed to return to his halfway home.
He is a two-time federal offender on statutory release after receiving a three-year and seven-month sentence for uttering threats, break-and-enter, and failing to comply with his probation order.
Galt also has four prior convictions for sexual assault of women and children. He is considered a high-risk to reoffend.
Galt is Aboriginal, 5’8” tall, 240 pounds., with long black hair and several tattoos, including a wizard on his left forearm, tribal design on the right forearm, and a heart and dagger on his left upper arm. He walks with a cane, and was last seen wearing a light blue t-shirt and blue jeans.
Timothy Daniel Jones, 48, failed to return to his halfway house Tuesday evening.
He is a two-time federal offender on statutory release, after receiving a one-year-eight-month sentence for breach of his long-term supervision order.
Jones has three prior convictions for sexual assault against teenage and adult women and is considered a high-risk to reoffend.
Jones is Caucasian, 6’0″ tall, 224 pounds., with brown hair, brown eyes, and a tattoo of Pegasus on his right upper arm. He was last seen wearing a blue jean jacket, green t-shirt, and blue jeans.
Vancouver Police say if anyone sees these men, do not approach, and call 9-1-1 immediately.
