WATCH: Teammate wants a nice gift from NBA MVP Steph Curry

WATCH ABOVE: Curry is caught off-guard during a news conference.

TORONTO – Stephen Curry might have been named NBA MVP but he apparently has his teammates to thank for it – and they want free stuff.

Newly crowned MVP Curry was in the midst of a press conference Tuesday when one of his Golden State Warriors teammates wanted to know what Curry was going to buy them to say thanks.

“When Kobe [Bryant] won the MVP, [his team] all got watches, and you keep mentioning to us that we’re a part of this, so I was just wondering what our gift was,” Draymond Green asked as laughter erupted in the room.

Curry ran with it.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

“I warmed you guys up with the Playstations last week,” Curry, who averaged just shy of 24 points per game this season, said. “That wasn’t good enough, though, I understand.”

“Don’t worry. I don’t know what kind of watches they were, but I’ll beat that gift.”

The pair embraced before Curry resumed the ‘regular’ portion of the press conference.
