Alberta Election 2015: NDP’s Kim Schreiner elected in Red Deer-North riding

Kim Schreiner of the NDP has been elected in the riding of Red Deer-North.

This riding containing the the areas in Red Deer north of the Red Deer River (along with areas north of 50th Street to the west of 30th Avenue, and north of 39th Street east of 30th) has exclusively elected PC candidates since it was created in 1986.

There have only been two MLAs for Red Deer North—former Finance Minister and Canadian Alliance leader Stockwell Day and Mary Anne Jablonski, who has decided not to run for re-election after 15 years in office.
