CALGARY – Homicide detectives were called to the scene after a body was found in Calgary’s Bow River Wednesday afternoon, but police have since determined it’s not a criminal matter.
Police didn’t identify the person, but initially said the death was considered suspicious. Police said in a release Thursday afternoon that an autopsy and investigation determined the death is not suspicious. No further details will be released.
EMS said a call came in around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday after a woman spotted the body near Riverfront Ave. and MacLeod Trail S.E.
Fire officials said the Calgary Fire Department’s aquatic team assisted with recovery of the body.
