Alberta Election 2015: Wildrose’s Don MacIntyre wins Innisfail-Sylvan Lake riding

Kerry Towle’s bid to win the riding of Innisfail-Sylvan Lake after crossing the floor last year didn’t go exactly according to plan. In 2012, voters elected Towle as the Wildrose candidate. But, she crossed the floor to the PC in November 2014, seeking re-election under the Progressive Conservatives. The riding, just south of Red Deer, had a history of electing PC candidates with strong majorities.

Towle lost to Wildrose candidate Don MacIntyre, who won the riding on Tuesday with more than 42 per cent of the vote.

Towle placed in second, a few hundred votes ahead of NDP candidate Patricia Norman.

Candidates:

  • Progressive Conservative: Kerry Towle (Incumbent)
  • Wildrose: Don MacIntyre
  • NDP: Patricia Norman
  • Alberta Party: Danielle Klooster
