Man arrested for allegedly forcing underage girl into sex trade

TORONTO – A 20-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly forcing an underage girl into the sex trade.

Police say the 17-year-old victim was transported to and from hotel rooms within the Greater Toronto Area and was forced to work in the sex trade for approximately 16 months.

Police allege the girl was forced to hand over all of her earnings.

Jemaal Wilson, 20, of no fixed address, was arrested on April 20 and charged with a number of offences including trafficking in person (under 18 years), exercise control of person for prostitution, assault and uttering threats/death or bodily harm.

The accused made a court appearance on Tuesday.

Police believe there may be more victims and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
