Homicide investigators are on scene in Burnaby where a body was found lying in the street.
It happened near Moscrop and west of Smith Avenue.
Just before 3 a.m. a uniformed officer on routine patrol found the man at the intersection. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has now taken control of the case.
The area around Moscrop and Smith will be closed to traffic for a number of hours and people are asked to avoid the area.
“We are hoping to speak with anyone who was out and about in the area of Moscrop in the hours leading up to the discovery of this man,” says IHIT media relations officer, Sergeant Stephanie Ashton.
IHIT is asking anyone who may have information to call the IHIT tipline by calling 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or email at ihittipline@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
