Victoria man’s body found in apartment in suspicious circumstances

VANCOUVER – The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) and Victoria Police detectives are investigating a suspicious death in the Fernwood area.

Officers were called to an apartment building in the 1500-block of Begbie Street at about 10 p.m. and found the body of a Victoria man inside.

The building, and a section of the 1500-block of Begbie Street, remain cordoned off as officers investigate.

Investigators are still trying to determine what happened, but at this time they say there is no reason to believe the public may be at risk.
