Parts of U.S. bracing for severe storms, tornadoes

TORONTO – After a quiet start to the storm season, parts of the United States are bracing for two days of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes.

On Wednesday afternoon, the National Weather Service issued tornado warnings and watches in parts of Oklahoma, Missouri, Indiana, Ohio and West Virginia.

The risk of more severe weather is higher on Thursday from Texas north to Michigan and Illinois.
