A 52-year-old man is dead, and another is suffering from serious injuries following an afternoon crash on Highway 2.
Westman RCMP responded to a two vehicle crash on Highway 2 at 3:20 PM. The collision occurred near the south junction of Highway 21, near the town of Deleau, Manitoba.
The initial investigation shows the car collided head on with an SUV. The lone 52-year-old driver in the car, from Saskatchewan, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver in the SUV was transported to a Winnipeg hospital with serious injuries.
The other occupants in the SUV were also all from Saskatchewan, including a female passenger who suffered minor injuires, and four children, who did not suffer any injures.
RCMP say road conditions were normal and alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
The RMP Forensic Collision team is continuing their investigation.
The name of the deceased will not be released.
