UPDATE — One man is dead following an incident on Highway 97 south, six kilometres north of Penticton involving a semi and a pedestrian.
Police say that a 47 year old man ran in front of the semi shortly after 4:30 Thursday morning.
The unidentified man died at the scene.
Police don’t know why the man was on the highway at the time.
The investigation is just getting underway.
The incident has brought traffic on Highway 97 north of Penticton to a crawl.
PENTICTON — Traffic is at a standstill on Highway 97 south near Penticton as a result of a serious accident.
Witnesses say the crash site is about six kilometres north of Penticton and that there is debris all over the road.
