VANCOUVER – Lululemon founder Chip Wilson has tongues wagging in his pricey Point Grey neighbourhood after a sign went up outside his home.
The sign reads:
We have received a Development Application from A. Foolisch Engineering Inc. to develop a fixed position floating heliport dock at the above noted address.
It also states that no public hearing will be scheduled for the 8,000 sq ft helicopter dock float, with pylon heights of approximately 10 feet above high tide.
The development application number is ‘UFO41234’.
Nobody answers the phone at ‘A Foolisch Engineering Inc.’ It is only a recorded message of a woman saying everyone is out of the office until April 1.
Most neighbours seem to be getting a kick out of the early joke.
“It’s like April Fool’s,” said one woman. “Come back tomorrow.”

However, she was quick to point out that Wilson has had enough trouble with neighbours on Point Grey Road. Wilson and his wife Shannon commissioned a mural to be painted on the seawall behind his $37 million home in October, 2013, in an effort to stop problem tagging in the area. But in September, 2014, the mural was whitewashed and replaced with the words ‘The City of Vancouver: Consistently opposing the arts.’
Wilson’s neighbours on the Sunshine Coast have also opposed the building of a large private dock in front of his waterfront home in the area between Secret Cove and Pender Harbour. Most say they are concerned about the environmental impact of the project.
