Dalhousie students kicked out of residence over content posted on social media

File/ Global News

HALIFAX – A Nova Scotia University is confirming it has dealt with another case of allegations of inappropriate content posted to social media.

The Halifax university issued a statement today to say it was notified last November of concerns over possible inappropriate content on an Instagram account.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

Dalhousie says students were evicted from residence as a result of the incident, but is not disclosing the number of students involved.

The Halifax Chronicle Herald is reporting that a female student at Dalhousie said she saw a photo posted last October on an Instagram account that showed another student with her breasts visible, engaging in oral sex.

Dalhousie didn’t confirm the newspaper account in its statement, but says it contacted Instagram to have the account taken down.

It also contacted Halifax Regional Police who determined there were no grounds for investigation.
