REGINA – Police in Saskatchewan handed out over 200 tickets to distracted drivers in February.
A total of 245 tickets were handed out. Of those, 184 were for cell phone use. Police also seized two vehicles.
In addition to the distracted driving tickets police also handed out 1,072 tickets for speeding, 397 tickets for failing to stop at a red light or stop sign and 75 impaired driving charges.
SGI is reminding motorists that the only multi-tasking required in the driver’s seat should be related to driving – scanning mirrors and looking for hazards on the road.
