Police offer reward for man connected to violent East Vancouver murder

The Vancouver Police Board is offering a reward up to $10,000 in hopes of locating 42-year-old Daniel Alphonse Paul, who is wanted in connection with the “violent murder” of his girlfriend.

Crystal “Rosie” Paul, a 36-year-old mother of five girls aged 8 to 19, was found dead in the basement suite of a home on East 22nd Avenue and Main Street by police on March 3.

Police have confirmed the home belonged to Daniel Paul, who has a violent past and a history of offences against women. Since the discovery of Rosie’s body, police have not been able to locate Daniel Paul and he has not been seen since March 1.

“This man is very dangerous,” says Howard Paul, Rose’s uncle.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

“He needs to be taken off the streets before he hurts or kills another woman. Rosie loved and trusted this man. He was supposed to protect her, but instead he took her life. Only two people know what happened that day and Rosie can’t tell us. Daniel has answers to our questions and we want to know what happened.”

Daniel Paul is described as Aboriginal, 5’8″ tall with a medium build, brown eyes and short black hair. He has a series of tattoos on his left arm that include: an eagle, rat, a knife, skull and buffalo. On his right arm there is a rose, skull and heart.

Rankins says Daniel Paul is considered dangerous and threat to other women. If he is located, police say to call 9-1-1 immediately.
