TORONTO – The parents of an eight-week-old baby found at the end of a driveway in London, Ontario have been arrested.
Paramedics took the infant to hospital after a neighbour found the infant in a car-seat shortly after 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Police checked the home associated with the driveway on which the child was found and discovered the father, 31-year-old Craig Lush, asleep. He was not supposed to be in the residence due to a Probation Order and had also been drinking alcohol, another violation of the Probation Order. He’s scheduled to appear in court on April 1.
He was charged with two counts of breach of probation.
Police also found the mother, 31-year-old Megan Sproul, who had been arrested earlier that same morning, at 1:48 a.m., for operating a car while impaired by drugs.
Police allege Sproul had placed the baby at the end of the driveway before driving away from the house. She was charged with failing to provide the necessities of life, and abandoning a child. She’s expected to appear in court on April 9.
