At 6:45am we give you an early morning dose of inspiration from our friends at Evolve Fitness. The popular Halifax fitness studio recently wrapped up their annual “Transformational Challenge” with the group involved losing a staggering 1500 lbs of combined weight over a 6-week period. We’ll chat with one of those participants, Rachel Taylor, along with owner Matt Benvie to talk about this year’s successful event.

Halifax’s YWCA is marking a big anniversary Thursday. The organization is celebrating 140 years of making waves here in Halifax. Founded in 1874, YWCA Halifax was among the first five established in Canada. At 7:15am we’ll tell you about an event happening Thursday night that will mark this milestone. @YWCAHalifax

If you’ve ever wanted to create change in the world, The Royal Canadian Mint has a contest for you! To celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary in 2017, the Mint has launched “My Canada, My Inspiration” contest inviting you to design the five circulation coins for 2017. The official launch of the contest happens in Halifax Wednesday night and we’ll learn more about how to enter at 7:20am Thursday morning.

And Tristan Flynn of JollyTails drops by at 7:45am for his regular Dog Talk segment. Thursday we’ll meet two more puppies and learn new tips on how to train your own puppy to become a disciplined canine-companion!

At 8:15am we’ll talk with the cast and director of a new film set and produced right here in the North End of Halifax. Noon Gun  tells the story of one dramatic incident experienced by several main characters, each with their own unique take on what really happened. @NoonGunFilm

The Macdonald Bridge has been closed overnight since the beginning of March for the Big Lift.  What has been accomplished so far? How long will the project really last?  How different will the bridge look when it’s done?  At 8:45am we sit down with Chief Bridge Engineer Jon Eppell for answers to these questions and many more.
