EDMONTON- Andrew Koep and Edgars Kulda each had a goal and two helpers and Tristan Jarry made 31 saves as the Edmonton Oil Kings downed the Saskatoon Blades 8-1 Wednesday in Western Hockey League action. It was the Blades fourth straight loss.

Dysin Mayo, Lane Bauer, David Koch, Brandon Baddock and Tyson Gruninger had a goal and an assist apiece for Edmonton (32-29-7) and Brayden Brown added a single goal in leading the Oil Kings to a season sweep over the Blades.

Ryan Graham put the Blades (19-44-4) on the scoreboard. Brock Hamm stopped 38-of-46 shots in a losing cause.

The Blades continue their road trip Wednesday when they take on the Red Deer Rebels.

In other action. Nick McBride made 55 saves as the Prince Albert Raiders extended their win streak to four games with a 5-3 victory against the visiting Regina Pats. McBride turned away all 32 shots he faced through the first 40 minutes- which allowed his club to build a 4-0 lead to take into second intermission- and 22-of-25 his way in the third period to preserve the win.

Jordan Tkatch had a pair of goals for the Raiders (28-35-3) while Matteo Gennaro, Mackenze Stewart and Reid Gardiner added the others. Jayden Hart tacked on three assists.

Adam Brooks, Braden Christoffer and Pavel Padakin supplied the scoring for the Pats (35-22-9).

Regina’s Daniel Wapple kicked out 19-of-23 shots in a losing cause.

Prince Albert played the entire game without a power-play opportunity while the Pats scored once on two chances with the man advantage.

Wheat King 5 Warriors 3

BRANDON – Jayce Hawryluk had a pair of goals and Tim McGauley scored once and set up two more as the Wheat Kings downed Moose Jaw.

Rihards Bukarts and Morgan Klimchuk each added a goal and an assist for Brandon (49-11-7) as Jordan Papirny made 29 saves for the win.

Brayden Point and Jiri Smejkal found the back of the net for the Warriors (29-33-5), who had their three-game win streak halted. Zach Sawchenko stopped 33-of-37 shots in defeat.

Ice 4 Hurricanes 1

CRANBROOK, B.C. – Wyatt Hoflin made 26 saves and Austin Vetterl’s short-handed goal late in the first stood up as the winner as Kootenay toppled Lethbridge.

Luke Philp, Jaedon Descheneau and Tim Bozon also scored for the Ice (34-29-4) while Rinat Valiev chipped in with two assists.

Jayden Sittler gave the Hurricanes (20-38-8) a chance to win by turning aside 42-of-45 shots. Giorgio Estephan scored for Lethbridge.

Chiefs 4 Giants 3

VANCOUVER- Blair Oneschuk’s goal late in the second period stood up as the winner as Spokane avoided a third straight loss by defeating the Giants.

Jackson Playfair, Riley Whittingham and Dominic Zwerger also scored for the Chiefs (32-29-4), who got a 20-save outing from Garret Hughson.

Zane Jones, Thomas Foster and Jackson Houck responded for Vancouver (26-38-3), which dropped its sixth game in a row. Payton Lee made 22 saves in a losing cause.
