Tentative agreement reached between Chronicle Herald and press workers

HALIFAX – A union representative said there is a tentative agreement between management and the press workers at the Chronicle Herald.

The news came out as the Halifax-Dartmouth Labour Council and the Halifax Typographical Union hosted a rally in front of the Herald office Friday morning.

About 35 people came out to support the workers, including acting NDP leader Maureen MacDonald.

Management at the Chronicle Herald locked out 13 press operators and mechanics last month after the union voted to reject the company’s previous offer.
