TORONTO – Toronto police announced Wednesday they have successful extradited a man arrested in Greece on a murder charge related to a brazen daylight slaying in Toronto in 2012.

Police say Rabih Alkhalil returned to Toronto Tuesday, Feb. 24 after an extradition application was finally granted by the Greek government.

The accused was originally arrested in Greece on Feb. 23, 2013.

Alkhalil has been charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder in connection to the death of John Raposo on June 18, 2012.

Police say Alkhalil also faces charges for drug and organized-crime-related offences by Niagara regional police and Quebec provincial police.

The accused is also facing a first-degree murder charge in Vancouver for the murder of Sandip Duhre in January 2012.

Raposo was found fatally shot on the patio of the Sicilian Ice Cream Shop on College Street by officers responding to numerous calls for the sound of gunshots.

Alkhalil is the fourth person arrested in Raposo’s death, which police say was “a targeted murder.”

Dean Wiwchar, 27, of Vancouver, Nicola Nero, 36, of Niagara Falls, Ont., and Martino Caputo, 39, of Toronto, are in custody in Canada.
