Raw video: Firefighters battle fire in RDP
MONTREAL – A massive fire tore through a mattress factory in Rivière-des-Prairie Saturday evening.
At around 5:30 p.m., nearly 100 firefighters battled the blaze on Marco Polo Avenue near Henri-Bourassa Boulevard East.
It took nearly seven hours for them to extinguish the fire.
A large plume of smoke could be seen kilometres away, on Highway 40.
According to the Montreal fire department, no one was injured but the factory is considered a total loss.
The cause is still under investigation.
