REGINA – Weldon Brown will be staying with the Saskatchewan Roughriders after inking a contract extension Thursday.

Brown will be entering his sixth CFL season – his third with the Riders – after joining the team as a free agent in 2013.

Last season Brown had 54 tackles, two fumble recoveries and a quarterback sack. He also added five tackles and an interception in the Western semi-final.

Brown entered the CFL in 2010 with the Eskimos and has started in 67 of the 75 regular season games he played in.

Brown won his first Grey Cup with the Riders in 2013.
