Read’s Newstand owner John Devona says he’s had at least 100 people call looking for a copy of the magazine, which will be released in Canada on Friday.
All 12 copies Read’s is bringing in have been spoken for.
The Canadian distributor for the satirical magazine says 1,500 copies of the latest issue – which features a caricature of the Prophet Muhammad on the cover – will be available in different parts of the country Friday.
Those include five Toronto stores, one in Nova Scotia and a handful in Vancouver in addition to its usual Quebec-based retailers, as well as the one in New Brunswick.
