VANCOUVER – A North Vancouver RCMP Strike Force officer was surprised to receive a call from an unknown man on Tuesday, offering to sell him some marijuana.
The seller was completely unaware he had accidentally dialed the cell phone of a police officer.
The two arranged to meet and purchase an amount of marijuana later that day at an undisclosed location. Police then made an undercover buy and arrested a 25-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, both from Coquitlam.
“It is not every day that drug dealers call us to do business with them,” said Cpl. Richard De Jong of the North Vancouver RCMP. “I am sure they were as surprised as we were!”
The duo now face recommended charges of trafficking in marijuana. Police also found an undisclosed amount of marijuana, cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine in their vehicle, which led to another recommended charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
