EDMONTON – A public vigil will be held Saturday for the victims of what was the largest mass murder in the city’s history.

On Thursday, police sent a message on behalf of the Edmonton Viet Association saying the vigil will be held between 1 and 3 p.m. at Churchill Square, in memory of the victims.

The focus of the memorial, they wrote, will be to honour the eight individuals who lost their lives in what police described as an extreme case of domestic violence. The hope is also for the event to give the Edmonton community as a whole the opportunity to grieve and heal together.
