A 29-year-old man has been arrested after a body was found in a home in East Vancouver on Jan 6. Kenneth Conrad Izzard has been charged with manslaughter after Jeffery Scott Nasa-Dyke was found dead inside his apartment near Triumph and Nanaimo Streets.
Nasa-Dyke was last seen eight weeks ago on Nov. 13, and reported missing to the Vancouver Police on Nov. 19. His body was found in a decomposed state, and police believe he may have been moved several times before ending up in Izzard’s apartment.
“The death occurred about eight weeks ago. We don’t think the body has necessarily been there the whole time. It would suggest multiple crime scenes,” says Vancouver Cst. Brian Montague.
Izzard and Nasa-Dyke did know each other and police say the murder appears to be drug related. Friends of Nasa-Dyke say he was a helpful presence in the community.
This is the first homicide of the year for the City of Vancouver. Izzard remains in custody until his next court appearance.
