2nd sinkhole forms above Evergreen Line construction in Port Moody

WATCH: There is yet another problem for TransLink’s Evergreen SkyTrain line in Port Moody. Asa Rehman reports.

VANCOUVER – A second sinkhole has formed above the Evergreen Line construction in Port Moody.

This sinkhole is located in the 1031–1099 block of Cecile Drive and crews are on scene blocking off the area.

In late October a sinkhole formed above the Evergreen Line tunnel boring at Chateau Place, near to Cecil Drive. Crews filled that sinkhole in a few hours.

Evergreen Line construction manager Nasir Kurji, said at the time sinkholes are not that unusual and can happen during construction.

“It’s not a hole we like to see,” he said.
