Montreal police continue search for man missing since mid-December

David Jean Cottard has been missing since December 15, 2014. Handout/Montreal police

MONTREAL — Police are asking for the public’s help in finding David Jean Cottard, who has not been seen since mid-December.

A woman considered by authorities as possibly connected to his disappearance came forward after Montreal police distributed her photo to the media.

However, she could not shed any light on Cottard’s disappearance, and is no longer considered an important witness.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

Cottard lives in Joliette and works in downtown Montreal.

During his lunch break on Dec. 15, he went out to get some air but he didn’t return to the office and did not come home at the end of the day.

Cottard’s last-known movements place him between The Bay department store at Union Street and Complexe Desjardins, at Jeanne-Mance Street.

His family have not heard from him since the day he disappeared and are very concerned.
