VANCOUVER – A North Vancouver homeowner was shocked to find an intruder asleep on his couch when he came home on Tuesday night.

He returned to his home in the 100-block of W 2nd Street and found the man wearing his T-shirt and sleeping. The 24-year-old man from Surrey had broken into the apartment, helped himself to food and personal items, put on the owner’s T-shirt and put a lot of stolen property into his backpack. Then he decided to lie down on the couch and take a nap.

“Police arrested the suspect without incident for break and enter and is now being held for court,” said Cpl. Richard De Jong of the North Vancouver RCMP. “He certainly was surprised to see the police!”
