The are two new additions to Monaco royalty. Princess Charlene and Prince Albert of Monaco welcomed their news twins to the world on Wednesday. Gabriella Thérèse Marie was born at 17h04, and Jacques Honoré Rainier was born at 17h06.

When Princess Charlene, 36, and Prince Albert of Monaco, 56, announced they were having twins back in October, many were wondering who would be heir?

According to the palace, and despite being born second, Jacques Honoré Rainier is the Crown Prince and first in line to the throne. And, in accordance with the historic custom established by the treaty of Péronne in 1641, he shall receive the title Marquis of Baux (in Provence). Princess Gabriella is second in line of succession, and has been bestowed the title of Countess of Carladès (in Auvergne).
