3 killed in head-on collision in Penniac, N.B.

PENNIAC, N.B. – RCMP are investigating after three people were killed in the early morning hours of Wednesday while they were driving along Route 8.

Keswick RCMP and the Fredericton fire department responded after a vehicle collided head-on with a tractor-trailer shortly after midnight.

A 23-year-old Minto man, 23-year-old Durham Bridge man and a 41-year-old Fredericton woman were pronounced dead at the scene.

A 19-year-old Fredericton woman was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The truck driver was not seriously injured, according to RCMP.

Victims names are not being released until families can be properly notified.

RCMP say road and weather conditions are believed to have been factors in the crash.
