WATCH: 67-year-old grandma fights off armed carjacker

A brutal attack on a 67-year-old Indianapolis woman has left her with a black eye and several other bruises.

At around 7 p.m. Sunday, Kay Kise returned from Christmas shopping and parked her van in front of her home when a young man approached her asking for directions.

She answered him and continued to take out her shopping bags from her van. “The next thing you know,” she tells WTHR, “I turned my back around and he had a gun right in my face.”

The armed man demanded the keys to her van, but Kise refused, slapping the gun out of her face.

A struggle began between the two and Kise suffered several blows to her head. She began to scream for help, which alerted her neighbours to call for help.

The man and two more suspects fled the scene by the time police had arrived.

Kise says she doesn’t understand why anyone would want to hurt her and hopes that someone will help bring her attackers to justice.
