Michael Bublé rumoured to be building luxury home in Burnaby

VANCOUVER – There are rumours going around a Burnaby neighbourhood that Michael Bublé is building a luxury home, complete with ice rink in the basement.

The house, which would be located near Seaforth Elementary School, which Bublé attended as a child, is creating a lot of buzz among the neighbours.

“That’s pretty cool,” said Zoey Semchuk. “I work at the daycare right beside and I’ve heard it’s going to be for Michael Bublé.”

The house is rumoured to be built on two existing lots, totaling more than 20,000 square feet.

“I think it’s wonderful, he grew up in the area,” said neighbour Quinton Fong.

“I think it’s fantastic that he wants to return to the neighbourhood where he grew up. He’s a fantastic performer, he’s a superstar and a fantastic humanitarian as well.”

He stopped by their open house earlier this year:

Global News has reached out to Michael Bublé and his team for comment.

The City of Burnaby says a rezoning application has been made for that piece of property but were able to confirm anything further.
