Alleged serial foot-licker turns himself into police

TORONTO – York Regional Police have arrested an Innisfil man in connection to a series of crimes that involved entering Ontario tanning salons and allegedly licking women’s feet.

Mattieu Petrin, 28, surrendered to police Wednesday after authorities issued a public news release about the alleged incidents.

He has been charged with four counts of sexual assault, three counts of theft under $5,000, robbery and sexual interference with a person under the age of 16.

Investigators say similar incidents were reported at tanning salons in Aurora, Innisfil, Bradford, Barrie and Richmond Hill.

Police say the first reported incident occurred on Nov. 19 when the accused allegedly entered a tanning salon in Richmond Hill around 3:35 p.m., approached a woman and asked if he could see her shoes.

The suspect allegedly proceeded to smell her shoe and fled the scene with it.

The following day, the accused allegedly entered a tanning salon in Richmond Hill, approached a woman, and began asking questions about her boots.

The suspect then grabbed the victim’s leg, removed her boot and sock and licked her foot without consent, according to police.

He then allegedly fled the scene with the victim’s boot and sock.

Petrin is scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
