WATCH: 100-year-old woman sees ocean for the first time

WATCH: After a hundred years of yearning to see the beach, Ruby Holt had her wish fufilled.

It was a moment of pure joy and a lifelong wish fulfilled when centenarian Ruby Holt dipped her foot into the ocean for the first time.

Growing up and raising a family in rural Tennessee, Holt never had the money or the chance to visit a beach in all her 100 years.

However, thanks to a partnership between the assisted living centre where Holt lives and Wish of a Lifetime, an organization that grants wishes to the elderly, Holt got to see the ocean for the first time during an all-expenses-paid trip to the Gulf of Mexico.

In the heartwarming video which has rapidly gained over 630,000 views in less than week, Holt walks across the white sand beach with the help of aides from the home.

“I’ve heard people talk about it and how wonderful it was and wanted to see it, but I never had the opportunity to do so,” she said.

Using a donated motorized wheelchair, which had fat tires to roll over sand, Holt stood up at the edge of the water with aides Debbie Surgeon and Tracy Marcy.

“We got you, hon,” Surgeon said. “We’re not going to let you fall.”

Holt turns 101 on Dec. 13.
