17-year-old girl sexually assaulted at multiple locations

CALGARY- A 17-year-old girl was waiting at a Taradale Drive bus stop at Tara Cove Rd NE around 11:30 p.m. Friday when two men in their 20s approached her with a weapon.

They took her to a nearby alley, where she was sexually assaulted, then to a residence where she was sexually assaulted again, repeatedly.

Police say the teen suffered physical injuries, possibly a concussion.

The victim was able to escape the home around 8 a.m. Saturday and fled to a family home.

The victim’s family then called police.

The victim was able to give enough information to police so they could find the house where the second incident happened.

Three men who live in the home were taken into custody.

Two of the men are suspects and brothers.

The other man is believed to be a witness.

Calgary police say the victim was treated in hospital but has since been released.

“She’s being cared for and obviously in a circumstance like this, this is a very traumatic incident and we’ll make sure she’s got support [and] some place to deal with it,” Staff Sgt. Melanie Oncesce said.

“This case is very disturbing in the sense that a young girl has been attacked and these people are unknown to her. Anytime a situation like this occurs, it’s a very traumatic incident, so I would suggest that everything is pretty disturbing about it,” Oncesce said.

One of the suspects is known to police because of several unnamed offences.

Police have not released any details about the location of the residence or the suspects’ names, as the investigation is ongoing.

Charges are pending for both suspects.

The suspects and the victim did not know each other.

Police are asking any witnesses or people that were in the area at the time, to come forward.
