Langley dog walker pleads guilty in connection with dog deaths

WATCH: It was an incident that shocked animal lovers across the province. Dog walker Emma Paulsen tried to cover up the deaths of six beloved family pets. Today, Paulsen pleaded guilty to some of the charges against her. Grace Ke reports.

The dog walker charged in connection with the deaths of six dogs in Langley pleaded guilty to one count of animal cruelty and one count of public mischief in court today.

Emma Paulsen is expected to be sentenced Jan. 21, 2015.

The six dogs died back in May. Paulsen reported they had been stolen from the back of her truck before admitting the animals died after she left them in the hot vehicle.

When Paulsen left the courtroom, she was met with plenty of confrontation.

Some of the owners were in court for the hearing today.

Jennifer Myers, whose dog Buddy was one of the six dogs that died, says she had mixed reactions on the guilty plea and fears a lesser sentence.

Paulsen was charged with six offences under the Criminal Code of Canada and the BC Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act in August.

The charges under the Criminal Code include killing or injuring an animal, causing unnecessary pain or suffering to an animal, failing to provide adequate care to the dogs and mischief.
